Ahhhhh. Guess what I have? A cold. You might be saying, “So what? What’s the big deal about a cold?” Well, when you’re pregnant and you’re limited to a handful of remedies to alleviate symptoms, that’s a big deal. Nasal spray, gargling with salt water, using a netti pot, taking Tylonol… nothing is helping and I feel all whiny and miserable and pathetic right now. My sinuses are throbbing and whenever I roll over onto my side, I feel like my sinuses are about to explode. And now my jaw is aching, my head hurts, my throat hurts, and I’m coughing and sneezing.

Oh joy.

So I just had to get all that out. Because when you’re pregnant, apparently you get sick a lot. I didn’t really get colds or illnesses when I was pregnant with Nathan, but now it’s different because Mr. Nathan gets sick from other kids. And a pregnant woman’s immune system is lowered during pregnancy so her body doesn’t reject the baby. Unfortunately, our bodies don’t reject as many cold viruses either. So Nathan shares his colds and germs with me.

Nathan was sick Sunday night and Monday, but he was over it pretty quickly, within a couple days. Fingers crossed that this cold I have won’t last much longer!
