A Moment to Savor: Naptime

Oh, thank heavens. I am so relieved right now that I am about to go outside and belt out some off-key tunes at the top of my lungs, only that would wake the baby. That’s right… I said wake the baby, which means that he has gone down for a nap. Quietly. Twice today. Without so much as a whimper.  I laid him down in his crib, he gave me a sweet little smile as he threw his arm dramatically over his eyes, and he just went right to sleep like a peaceful little angel.

Let’s hope he’s back on this schedule and sticks to it. I, however, know my son and know his patterns (You can read about our struggles with nap time here and here.) He could very well throw me for a loop tomorrow, so I am going to savor this moment while I can.

Maybe I’ll celebrate by mopping.

  1. No! No mopping. Read. Watch something you’ve TiVo’d. Take a nap yourself. Anything but mopping!

I ended up not mopping. In fact, I didn’t do anything productive. I surfed the Internet and ate handfulls of Jelly Bellies. So unfortunately, the dirt on our kitchen floor lives to see yet another day and I’m sure I gained another 10 lbs…
