One of the things I love about being a graphic designer is the ability to edit my own photos… when I have the time! I could seriously sit in front of a computer all day creating stuff and be about as happy as a bug in a rug. So this picture was taken when Nathan was nearly 14 months old… can you believe that was SIX months ago?
Well, guys. I am totally paying for Nathan’s lack of a nap today. He has lost his good natured giggle and has morphed into Mr. Defiant, in which he has this insatiable desire to test each and every single one of his rules. He was doing that earlier today, but now it’s intensified to the point that he’s grating on my nerves! He is literally going around the house touching everything he’s not supposed to touch… TWICE. His bed time is in about an hour. One more hour, one more hour, one more hour…
Well Nathan has decided that a nap is NOT on his itinerary for the day! He’s been running around like a crazy little field mouse, laughing for no reason and having a big ole time. Which reminds me somewhat of a mischevious little imp. Like there really IS a reason for this laughter… he’s about to get into something and boy, it’s going to be BIG. He already messed with the settings on our receiver (for our surround sound, DVR, and DVD player) and it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what he did to render it SOUNDLESS. His toys are scattered around all over the place. I’ve stepped on one of those giant Lego’s already, and let me tell you, that shit HURTS.
And, Nathan is running around at full speed, intermittently covering me with his sweet hugs and kisses then running away with his head tilted back, and I can’t help but think it’s because he’s running so fast THAT HIS HEAD CAN’T KEEP UP WITH HIS BODY. Just a few minutes ago, I had him in my lap while I was on the computer, but he started bouncing so hard on me that I almost peed on myself. We were listening to this song by 10 Years (if you click on the link, give it a few seconds and it will play automatically), and he was started bouncing up and down like a jackhammer while trying to sing along. Which, admittedly, was freakin’ adorable to hear him attempt to sing along to something, even if my bladder was frantically protesting THE ENTIRE TIME.
I think I am the one who needs a nap! And I am sitting here wondering WHO THE HELL SNUCK SUGAR INTO HIS CHEERIOS? Because this kid is seriously hyper today.
